Today I’m going to try posting before and after shots of my hosta area in the backyard. Hostas have had a great season here this year because it has been fairly cool and rainy. The first photo is in May and you can see ferns with the green hostas. The second photo is how they look now. What I’m concerned about is that the May photo was taken with my digital camera and the second with a throw away that my wife took with her on a trip. I wanted to finish the roll in order to develop the shots. Well, here goes.
The May photo of hosta and fern.
Current photo of same area from a different angle.

Check Alice’s site today. Now she knows what she is doing! Two fantastic photos and she is comparing two views also. I thought that was interesting. Alice, what is the saying about great minds? Well, in this case I think it is your great and talented mind and my humble mind going along the same paths. Cheers all.

My hostas have flowered and have turned to seed, but yes they came back this year with a vengeance. I’ve thought about adding ferns, but just haven’t managed to get around to it. Not a lot of shade in my yard. Nice hostas! Off to check the other blog.
What a beautiful garden. You have truely green thumbs!
I also enjoyed your previous photo of the sunset. You must have a great camera to get such wonderful clarity. I loved the colours.
What a lush and lovely scene. Oh, I wish I had some decent shade for some hostas and ferns. Hey, thanks for the link to my site
What a gorgeous spot in your yard for a plant I think too many really don’t appreciate. I have several varieties of hosta and love them all. Wonderful photos, both of them.
those pictures are so beautiful…lush..inviting…inspires me to go sit out in the yard again today, although I was already out there for 2 hours this morning. i made one of your sunset photos my computer wallpaper.

Thanks for the good luck wish with school. I think I’m going to need it! Oh by the way…my boyfriend’s parents are huge UT fans. It’s cool cause his parents and I are all TN natives, its such a great state!
I LOVE the backyard!
Your yard must feel so peaceful & tranquil!
