  • Take Off!

I don’t the kind of bird but it took off for flight just as the camera snapped.  I guess we might say this is flight at first flap.

  • What a great shot, Bill! I wonder if it might be a pheasant, or a type of grouse?

    • It could be a small grouse but because I was in AZ I am not up to speed an their types of birds (and too lazy to look it up).

  • I don’t know about the type of bird, but that photo caught a unique angle, and I love it!

    • Glad you like it. I do wish it had more direct light on the bird. The sun was behind and made a shadow.

  • Wow! That is one great action photo!!

  • Cool capture! Love the bird in motion! :-)
I have no clue what kind of bird…I was thinking hawk, but then I was thinking not a hawk…I’m so confused! ;-)
    HUGS!!! :-)

    • Howdy, the bird looks larger in the photo than it is because I was pretty close to it.

  • wow you are fast on the snapping or did it just scare you so much you squeezed the button? LOL
My dog went in the reeds and came out with a mother bird chasing her.

    • Actually the bird was at the botanical garden and the bird was perched until just as I snapped the photo.

  • Could it be an owl? Neat picture Bill.

  • RYC: In MY world, every day IS hugging day! Thanks for all the hugs, SweetB.!!! :-)

  • That’s a fantastic picture!! Thanks for sharing it.

  • Love the bird picture. :-) Can’t wait till the nicer weather to get outside more. I think cabin fever is setting in.

RYC – I’ve never been to Boston. That’s the home of the first real tea party. I really should visit! :D My daughter and friend visited once, many years ago and their opinion was that the people were snobs. At the time they were only 16 so maybe it was partly them? :P

  • I like that bird in flight out of the grass–looks good to me !
