  • I present a “poem” today as a result of my group meeting yesterday and in response to those who pointed out that the feeling cards I posted the last two days contain only one card with a positive feeling. (happiness-yellow) mezamashiisymbolreader
Six of the cards are negative with the exception of the wild card which can be positive or negative.

    Making Light

I’m so good at making light of things.
I’m so poor at giving myself credit
For the good I do and
    For the sadness I feel.

I’m so good at making light of things.
I’m not good at raising my own flag
    Or sharing the sorrow
When I see the hurt in your heart.

I’m so good at making light of things
That I deny your love for me
    And how deeply
    I care for you.

    I’m good at making light
Oh, I wish I could gather up the darkness
And let it seep into my soul
    to heal me.

  •  Back from the beach just saying Hi. I have a lot of catching up to do.

  • Love your poem.  LOVE IT.  Interesting how you comment that you need the darkness to heal you.  Don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone refer to darkness as a healing power.  Usually, it’s the LIGHT that is conducive to healing.  Huh… who knew?  Interesting stuff in that poem of yours!

BTW, here’s the link to the cartoon site (just don’t “steal” all the good ones!):

  • Darkness is where all the stuff that needs healing, lives.  So, you focus on it while you’re healing, neh?  Go in there with a flashlight held in your teeth, keep both hands free to wrestle with.

I love the cards. I want additions, though. :)   Love.  Delight.  Desire.  Satisfaction.  It’s easy for people who are healing to be able to better identify hard feelings than they are lovely ones.

Practice makes perfect. :)   Today, try contentment!

  • Good poem!

But its light that heals, not darkness.

  • Interesting idea…darkness heals…I can see your point because people have to confront the darkness in themselves in order to heal. Your cards worked for me during the time of divorce: in fact, we dealt with some of those same words, only on blocks, not cards, as we described our walls of resentment that we had to break down in order to heal. But today, I look for the bright words; I have dwelled in darkness, but now I live in the light. :)

  • When I have a migraine headache, only a totally dark room and sleep will heal it.

Yes is the answer to both of your questions.  I am very proud of both my daughter and my son.  They are both happy with their jobs.

  • I love the poem! Hope you are having a good Friday!

  • Umm, the darkness. It’s so chocolate-ee.

  • You need darkness in order to see light or else you would not know the difference. I love the poem…

  • Beautiful and brilliant.
Can’t find more to say… and I think I’m okay with that.

  • this was very heartfelt and powerful…i see the darkness part has caused some controversy..but for me, i see the darkness as the place where you cant be tricked by beauty, or distracted by a sirens song, in the darkness, there is solitude…and strength is gained by being able to survive your own thoughts. Bravo, my friend.  ~jacki

  • A great dark poem! Absolutely enjoyed the read. Peace.
