Here is another photo of headstones. graves

there is a cemetery along the trail.  A sign there noted that one couple was buried head-to-head instead of side by side because they had been divorced.  I had never heard of that tradition!  Wonder what one does if he or she has been divorced two or three times?

Not the best photo but off in a distance from a clearing along the trail one could see the snow on the mountains.

I did this hike with my oldest son and we had to admit it was “cold” on the trail.

  • A flooded quarry is still impressive and the water appears blue. Your bike course provides thrills.
    Happy new year!

  • Interesting burial idea — hmmm — spokes on a wheel?

  • Ha! Sorry! That burial tradition has me laughing! :-D Many spouses…they should just bury them all on top of one another! ;-)

I saw an old cemetery in November…headstones from the mid 1800′s forward…it was very interesting.

The photos are stunning! And that hike sounds like a great one! :-)

    HUGS!!! :-)
PS…RYC…just make sure you don’t burn your chestnuts. ;-)

  • Happy New Year to you, too. I think our soldier’s graves in veteran cemeteries bury the wife head to head. Tell me if I’m wrong.
