Rose on the altar
To signal a birth
A rose adorns the altar
Eli has now arrived
Note: Our church places a rose on the altar each time some church family has a new arrival. Dec 22nd one of these roses signaled the birth of Eli, my grandson who was born on Dec. 18th. 7 lbs. 4 oz.
Here is a photo of Eli. I am sure he will become a shortstop in MLB because of his long limbs and large hands.

I had an great Uncle Ray who played for the Pacific team in southern Ca. and when I was a kid all I remember is that he did have large hands.

Your grandson is just precious! Congratulations on your new little guy! That is such a neat tradition: putting a rose on the altar like that!
