Interesting goldenrod (wildflower)
This photo was taken during our recent wildflower excursion in North Carolina, near Highlands. Notice the blossoms grow along the stem instead of at the end.
Invocation
Inside, she cries out
“Settle me.”
She pleads,
“Help me pull peace
from your heart
and layer it on my soul
until I accept
what is for me.I pray soothe her
during this quest
for the unfathomable.
Steady her as she
treads along
that rocky climb.
Still her cry
that she may
share her dreams,
her fears,
her love
without regret.
Settle her.

A beautiful poem.
Nice flower/weed. Thought provoking poem.
The one from yesterday reminds me of an old poem I have about. I will look it up and put it on my site.
You just came back with a treasure trove of pictures and ideas. Loving all of it.
your words…I think you have discovered what

simply most women crave…
The goldenrod in Pa I don’t remember growing like this. I remember the folks that sneezed through the season.
maybe a comma after prayer? Very good poem. How to be of service to the other! endless quest. Especially when you HEAR the cry. And especially if directed to yourself. Very good. I don’t remember THIS plant as goldenrod: I use a different one for tea for arthritis. very gold….dries with a shaft of golden flowers. A weed. Thanks to God, I don’t have arthritis, but has seemed to help others.
Wow. The goldenrod is lovely.
The poem is powerful. You’ve shown how strong is the pull to try and help someone and I’m worried for the narrator because I think it would be so easy for that caring person to give up the peace she would pull from his heart.
Excellent picture and b r i l l i a n t poem!!!
If you can…

Nothing like wildflowers during a rocky climb! If it weren’t for all the smoke, evacuations, and perilous bush fires, I’d be out climbing too! I shall live vicariously through you as you inhale the fresh air!
Excellant picture, quite relaxing at that.
lol – you know this touches a cord with me at the moment!
